About DARKFIELD
DARKFIELD creates immersive audio experiences inside custom-built shipping containers. Using binaural sound, complete darkness and meticulously designed environments, DARKFIELD places audiences at the center of intense, atmospheric stories. After successful seasons around the world, DARKFIELD is coming to AREA15 in Las Vegas for an extended run.
About Realscape
Realscape Productions produces, tours and operates multisensory experiences: work you step inside rather than watch from a seat. Since 2017, we've put audiences inside the work in shipping containers, the backs of 40-foot trucks, festival sites and theaters across Australia, the US, Canada and New Zealand, handling everything that gets a show in front of an audience: production, touring, operations and marketing.
About the role
The Experience Duty Manager is the senior team member on the floor during a shift: the person who keeps DARKFIELD running smoothly from session to session.
You will lead the operating day on the ground, support the Experience Guides, keep each show starting on time, and act as the first point of contact when something needs solving, whether that is a guest issue, a schedule change, or a piece of show equipment.
This is a hands-on role. You will start up and shut down the shows, lead resets between sessions, support the team on the floor, and confidently troubleshoot basic show systems such as headphones, lighting, light leaks, tablets, scanners and resets. Full training is provided on our systems; what we need is someone practical, calm and unflappable who takes ownership of the floor.
This role suits someone from attractions, immersive experiences, events, theater or hospitality who is comfortable leading a small team, happy to be hands-on, and confident working with both guests and equipment.
A day in the life
You arrive before doors, power up and check the shows, walk the site, and brief your Experience Guides. Through the day, you keep sessions on time, jump in on resets when it is busy, fix the small things quickly, and make the call when something bigger needs escalating. At the end of the shift, you hand over a clean, calm and well-run site.
What you'll do
- Act as the on-shift person-in-charge: open and close the containers, run the operating day, and keep every session on time.
- Lead, brief and support the Experience Guides on shift, including break coverage and stepping in on resets when needed.
- Run show start-up, shutdown and resets to standard.
- Troubleshoot basic show systems quickly, including headphones, light leaks, lighting, tablets, scanners, resets and system restarts.
- Escalate larger technical, operational or guest issues to the Experience General Manager or producers.
- Support guest questions, complaints, access needs and ticketing issues, working with the box office and General Manager within agreed policy.
- Lead the floor on safety, including blackout checks, incident response, emergency procedures and show-stop procedures.
- Complete show reports, attendance counts and end-of-shift handovers.
- Keep the site clean, safe, presentable and ready for every audience.
- Help with load-in, staff training, operational testing and end-of-run close-down.
- Carry out other duties as reasonably required to run the floor.
What we're looking for
- Experience leading a team on shift in attractions, events, immersive experiences, theater, hospitality, retail, entertainment or another guest-facing environment.
- A calm, practical and confident approach to problem-solving.
- Someone comfortable taking ownership of a shift and making sensible decisions under pressure.
- Strong people skills, including briefing a team, supporting guests and defusing issues.
- Confidence using tablets, scanners, ticketing systems, show systems or similar operational tools.
- A practical mindset and willingness to learn basic troubleshooting. Full training is provided.
- Health and safety awareness, with the ability to follow and lead incident and emergency procedures.
Nice to have
- Experience with show systems, AV equipment, QLab or basic technical troubleshooting.
- First aid, fire warden or health and safety training.
- Experience opening a venue, attraction, pop-up, event site or temporary operation.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
Eligibility
- You must be 18 or over and eligible to work in the United States, including completion of Form I-9.
- Offers are subject to a background check.
Physical and environmental requirements
This role requires the ability to stand and walk for the full shift and move continuously around the site; lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs independently; bend, stoop, reach and kneel as part of daily operations; work outdoors in Las Vegas weather conditions, including extreme desert heat, direct sun and UV, high winds and seasonal monsoon weather; work in low light or darkness and in enclosed or crowded spaces; and tolerate theatrical effects including flashing lights, and loud or sudden sound.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Pay, training and perks
$24 to $28 per hour, depending on experience.
This is a seasonal, at-will, hourly, non-exempt role with variable shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Paid training is provided.
Perks include complimentary and discounted tickets, a supportive team environment, and priority consideration for future DARKFIELD seasons and Realscape Productions tours. Paid leave and other benefits will be provided where required by applicable law.
